When is MyDLL URTH

As a recognized entity, My^DLLURTH first emerged on a Monday — the first Monday of the 21^st Century.

Being that time is relative, that event deserves specificity. When the Prime Meridian entered the third millenium of the common era, My^DLLURTH was perceived. The North American emergence, locally, occured in the waning hours of the year 2000 — on the 20^th Century's final Sunday.

Now before linguistic purists complain of verbage, it must be said that the existance of My^DLLURTH disregards acknowledgement; it was perceived. URTH, being the first acknowledgement of My^DLLURTH, was conceived and firstborn.

There will certainly arise argument, on this story, regarding commencement of centuries, but the claim of coincidental emergence with the Twenty-First Century will persist until history reveals an event of the year 0 (or until compelling argument for a 99-years long First Century).

Certainly, My^DLLURTH existed before being acknowledged. In fact, the name of My^DLLURTH was coined in 1999 by a core group of activists, urging a more intelligent Internet. At that time, the founder of this group lived in primitive surroundings; a few of the other activists ventured personal encounter, and each encounter resulted in another adoption of the principal's Gandalf moniker. Indeed, he had the visage to make one mindful of Tolkien's beloved wizard.

It was only natural: the dwelling place of "Gandalf" became known as "Middle Earth" among the core of activists; however, this place was different. The name, MyDLL URTH, was originally coined to represent the dwelling place of adumbral, Deep Geek (aka: Gandalf). Yet, My^DLLURTH pre-existed; it was more than a name.

Before deciding that J. R. R. Tolkien created My^DLLURTH, remember: he chronicled Midlle Earth. It is true: Tolkien's chronicles hint of My^DLLURTH, but even the fictional antiquity of Middle Earth is far more recent than the commencement of My^DLLURTH.

Previously published, the saga of "Who is MyDLL URTH" is an ongoing journal of who embody My^DLLURTH. Another saga, "What is MyDLL URTH" illuminates characteristics of MyDLLURTH. Each MyDLL URTH saga is a collective account of urthling, and this account (disregarding the lengthy preamble) is not different.

I will begin the account of when — trusting urthling to illuminate more of when as each has story to tell.

Like the British Empire, the sun never sets on My^DLLURTH. For that reason, I choose to relate temporal information referenced from the Prime Meridian. As I mentioned earlier, URTH started at the commencement of the 21^st Century. My^DLLURTH, on the other hand, likely started before the dawn of humankind. Looking back with current understanding, I can recall my earliest youthful sense of My^DLLURTH in 1964 — when Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. However, in time, I was afforded glimpses of earlier URTH.
