Free lunch
or Now Serving
There seems a current distrust of free offers.
Ambiguous definitions promote distrust. To clarify, I establish the meaning of free, for this article, as unencumbered in the following regards:
- Public — e.g. Free information abounds on the Internet.
- Purchase price — e.g. Enjoy free beer during our "Happy Hour".
- Subscription price — e.g. Our employees get free dental insurance.
- Exemption — e.g. Feel free to enjoy.
Partial truths encourage distrust. The title and earlier definitions could describe a lunch of resource. That is correct; although, further disclosure could prevent the heartburn of half-truth. At my table, lunch is served; service is free — with conditions:
- Bring food and drink for the table.
- Offer your provisions to others.
- Bring generally tasteful offerings.
- You must use my (also free) napkins.
- Specialty preparations may be contracted.
- The wait staff will clean the tables.
- Responsibly use the facility — abusers will be shown the exit.
Rarities justify distrust. This will not be a limited time offer; neither will it be for a lucky few takers. If you find no chair, just let someone know and more places will be set for you and everyone you brought along.
Uneeliability strengthens distrust. Sure, I'm new to serving but I have managed my own needs for more than 40 years, and I am trained by masters of service. My credentials are open for review.
If it is not patently obvious by now, I am offering free web presence to any and all takers. That's right! free! No strings except as metaphorically aforementioned. If you provide sufficient, socially acceptable content, I will serve it without cost to you.
oh … the napkins?
